The 296 Speciale: A New Chapter in Ferrari's Legacy of
Performance
Unveiled in spectacular fashion at Ferrari’s iconic Fiorano
circuit, the 296 Speciale was presented to a select group of clients—offering them the very first look at what is set to become a
new benchmark in Maranello’s special series lineage.
Following in the footsteps of legendary models such as the
458 Speciale and 488 Pista, the 296 Speciale takes Ferrari’s engineering and
performance philosophy to thrilling new heights.
Engineering Without Compromise
At the heart of the 296 Speciale lies a re-engineered
3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 engine, delivering 700 cv, paired seamlessly with a 180
cv electric motor. This advanced hybrid setup produces a combined output of 880
cv, translating into instant throttle response and exhilarating
acceleration.
Lightweight innovations—such as titanium connecting rods and
a new crankshaft—contribute to a 9 kg reduction in engine weight,
sharpening agility and enhancing overall dynamics.
Aerodynamics That Redefine Control
Every element of the 296 Speciale is honed for performance.
A 20% increase in downforce, peaking at 435 kg, ensures maximum grip and
cornering precision. The active rear spoiler and adaptive aero damper system
intelligently shift between Low Drag, Medium Downforce, and High Downforce
settings, delivering optimal balance and stability across every driving scenario.
A Cockpit Born on the Track
Inside, the cabin is a tribute to Ferrari’s racing DNA.
Carbon-fibre sports seats, monolithic door panels, and stripped-down details
create a purposeful, lightweight environment. In total, weight-saving measures
shave 60 kg from the standard model, helping the 296 Speciale record a
Fiorano lap time of just 1 minute and 19 seconds—making it the fastest
V6 Ferrari to date.
For the Open-Air Enthusiast
The 296 Speciale A offers the same blistering performance and visceral experience, now with the added exhilaration of a retractable hardtop. It’s an uncompromising blend of open-air freedom and track-worthy capability.
